Colerain junior DT Trae Clark was offered by Indiana this morning, according to Colerain coach Tom Bolden.

Clark, who is 6-4 and 300 pounds, also has offers from Ohio University and South Florida.

Former McNicholas football coach Steve Klonne won the inaugural Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association (SWOFCA) coach of the year award Wednesday night.

The award will now be referred to as the SWOFCA Steve Klonne coach of the year award.

Colerain junior linebacker Joe Bolden verbally committed to Michigan today while taking a campus visit to Ann Arbor.

Joe Bolden, who is 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, is one of Ohio’s top players in the 2012 class. Bolden had several other offers including UC, Tennessee, Arkansas, Penn State, South Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Indiana, Boston College, Ohio University, Miami University, Arizona, Stanford, West Virginia, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Illinois and North Carolina.

Bolden made the verbal commitment in-person today accompanied by several members of his family, including his father, Colerain athletic director Dan Bolden. J

• Multiple sources say that former Highlands High School and Xavier University basketball star Tara Boothe will become the next girls’ head basketball coach at Dixie Heights. Boothe, who will turn 27 in July, was an assistant at Highlands this past season. Dixie athletic director Matt Wilhoite said last week via e-mail that the school was close to announcing a new head coach to replace Andy Elkus, who was not retained.
