Last week, Apple held a media event in New York City. At this event, the technology-gurus revealed their newest software programs, which could forever change the way that education takes place in the classroom. Currently, there are 1.5 million iPads that are being used in classrooms across the country. There are also more than 20,000 education and learning apps available in the app store. However, these numbers can both be expected to increase in the near future, thanks to the release of these new programs.

The New Jersey Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations (NJAC 7:14B Subchapter 13) require that all personnel who install, close, test, and design corrosion protection systems or perform subsurface evaluation for USTs need to be certified. This NJIT UST license renewal course is primarily for UST certification license holders who wish to renew their license. This one day course held on February 16th, on the Newark campus of the University, summarizes existing UST requirements as well as those associated with the new NJDEP Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP) program including implementing statutes and regulations.

St. Paul, Minn. Most Minnesota college students are still on their winter break, but for many it isn’t much of a vacation. They take on extra jobs to help pay for tuition, books and other expenses.
A majority of Minnesota undergraduates already work between 20 and 30 hours per week on average. They say it’s essential to pay for tuition and other expenses, which have skyrocketed in the last decade.
That worries some college officials that work is competing for too much of students’ time.

President Obama has been an advocate for improving the quality of education that children in the USA receive for years, and now, he has taken another step in this direction. On Tuesday, he announced some changes that are going to be made to the Head Start program. This program allows children from low-income families to attend preschool.
This is the first time in history that Head Start programs will truly be held accountable for performance, Obama said during a speech.
It is somewhat strange that Head Start has not been held accountable to the same standards as other education programs, such as No Child Left Behind and other reform efforts.
